2025 PRMR Summer Concert Series schedule

June 22, 2025-Inland Northwest Musicians

Since 1999, the Inland Northwest Musicians have performed for many rural audiences throughout Oregon and Washington that often don’t have the opportunity to see and hear a full orchestra and chorale. The troupe has performed upwards of 600 shows since their inception and remain a crowd favorite where ever they may travel. They are returning to Baker City after a triumphant 25th anniversary season in 2024 and once again will be sharing their “Tribute to the Armed Forces.”

June 29, 2025-Rogue Lobster

Walla Walla’s Rogue Lobster bring traditional bluegrass, Americana, and folk music styles to their signature “Americana Bluegrass Crustacean” performances. Their strong focus on instrumental leads and multi-layered harmonies blend together seamlessly and create music for everyone to enjoy. Since forming in 2013, the band has played more than 200 shows and has released three full-length albums of original music. A great deal of their performances occur around their home base of Walla Walla though they do manage to travel and play many shows throughout the region.

July 6, 2025-Music from the Celestial Realm

Local musicians Michael Porter, Debbie Freidman, Jerry Loft joined forces in 2023 and began creating music together. They worked through the spring and summer of 2024 creating demo recordings for an upcoming album and are preparing to finish the album this summer. They are already writing material for a follow-up album. Regulars at the weekly acoustic jam sessions, this trio forms the base of the band, creating soundscapes that include pop, rock, and folk music.

July 13, 2025-Ghost Wind

Traditional folk and Americana music with a Native flair. This husband & wife duo from Wallowa also delves into country, country/rock, and oldies during their performances. A softer sound reminiscent of the early 1970s singer-songwriter genre, the duo plays songs people know and love as well as original compositions.

July 20, 2025-Bag of Hammers

Formed in 2012 by Holly Sorensen and Luke McKern in La Grande, this dynamic musical duo has been performing to packed houses almost since day one. One of Eastern Oregon’s favorite party and dance bands, Bag of Hammers use looping machines to build layers of sound in each song. Holly’s soaring vocals combined with Luke’s musicianship make this band a “must see.”

July 27, 2025-Too Bamboo

Featuring Al “Too Loud” MacLeod (bassist for The Wasteland Kings) on guitar and vocals and Greg “Bamboo” Johnson on clarinet and sax, the music varies from folk and Americana to country, blues and “classic” tunes. The band has played as a duo, as a trio, as a quartet, and as a 5-piece or 6-piece band, depending on the show. We are lucky to have them performing as one of the larger ensembles sharing their original tunes and covers.

August 3, 2025-Kupenga Marimba

Kupenga Marimba got their start back in 2001 after attending a workshop with marimba master Michael Breez. From this and other workshops, the band members not only learned the art of playing these instruments, but also of building them. Michael Breez has visited Union County many times and has continued to teach the band new songs which they work into their performances. The music is based largely on the traditional music coming from central Africa, mostly from the country of Zimbabwe. While the various marimbas are the main focus, they also use other hand instruments native to the area and musical style.

August 10, 2025-Wayland Harman & Friends

Local Baker City singer/songwriter Wayland Harman has graced the Powder River Pavilion stage before, but 2024 was his first as a headlining act. His rich baritone vocals and thoughtful lyrics harken back to the popular folk music trends of the 1960s. While guitar is his usual instrument of choice, he always has his magical toolbox of instruments nearby where he may pull out any number of interesting and unusual instruments. Jaw harp and harmonica are popular choices, but he also has instruments of his own creation like the Clackamore which he uses often. Plus he plays the digeridoo as well.

August 17, 2025-Brass Fire

From 50s pop standards to 60s and 70s classic rock to jazz and modern pop, Brass Fire brings it all to the stage for their performances. For some listeners, these are songs that are part of the soundtrack to their youth; songs heard on small transistor radios while laying on the beach in the summer or sitting at a window watching the snow fall in the winter. A great trip down memory lane and a great introduction to brass-backed music in general.

August 24, 2025-Baker City Allstars

Donnie, Patrick, Rik, & Craig have played throughout the area for quite some time. All are accomplished musicians and draw from a wide range of musical genres for each performance. Traditional country, classic rock, blues, jazz: you name it, they can play it. They have been regulars at Karmic Relief out at Dead Ox Ranch for many years and have become crowd favorites playing at the PRMR Summer Concert Series.

August 31, 2025-Wasteland Kings

One the most well-known and popular of the Eastern Oregon bands, Wasteland Kings make each song they perform their own with their style and arrangements. Whether a traditional country standard, an original, or country/rock from the 1970s, they have a large catalogue of music to pull from and each performance is filled with solid harmonies and musicianship. Like a good wine, the band keeps getting better with age.

September 7, 2025-Terry Robb

Inducted into the Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2009, Terry Robb has won multiple awards throughout his career. He won the Muddy Award for Best Acoustic Guitar 19 consecutive times since its inception in 1992; in 2011 they renamed the award in his honor as the “Terry Robb” Acoustic Guitar Muddy Award. Terry is a self-taught fingerstyle guitarist whose music draws heavily upon traditional blues and folk, jazz, country, and ragtime. He continues to tour the Pacific Northwest and his homeland of Canada often each year. We are excited to bring Terry to “The Heart of the Park” to close out our 2025 Summer Concert Series.
